Back in 2019, our Dad put his home into an Asset Protection Plus Trust - and we were slightly nervous as it cost several thousand pounds.
Dad wanted to protect his home from Inheritance Tax and a possible divorce among his children.
Fast forward 4 years and unfortunately my Dad has had to go into care. We've now dealt with the local authority and are very pleased to tell you the house is not part of the financial equation!
Dad originally put the house into Trust because he needed to hold onto his tax reliefs and was worried one of us would get a divorce.
So imagine our surprise and delight when we realized it has also helped protect against care fees!
It’s worth mentioning, that at that time Mike said that he would be there to answer questions when the time arrives. And to his credit, I just finished a 30-minute phone call with Mike - updating my understanding about the Trust.
It's hard to find good people these days. I highly recommend Mike to anyone reading this review.
